I scored a five day junket to Antarctica with Prime Minister Helen Clark- and living legend Sir Edmund Hillary. A bit chilly here at Scott Base- but not as cold as London Ontario in winter...
yep - saw some little adelie penguins- none of the big emperors though- and a whole lot of seals. it really wasn't that cold. 0 to -5 with 10 or 15 degrees of windchill on the colder days. I've been colder in Toronto in winter. It's been an unusually warm summer for Antarctica

Antarctica bares a striking resemblance to Winnipeg right now (we’ve had a few days of –48 degree temperatures).
Time for me to go catch a seal for breakfast.
