Best apology of the summer

Some of you might already know about the “misheard” quote and subsequent apology listed below. For those who haven't read about it yet, enjoy.

Winnipeg Free Press
July 28, 2006

We reported wrongly yesterday that Lloyd Axworthy, a former Liberal foreign affairs minister, criticized Winnipeg's Asper family for using its media empire to defend Israel and shape Canadian foreign policy. He did not say that. In fact, Axworthy was referring to groups of diaspora -- various ethnic communities in today's multicultural society -- influencing Canadian foreign policy. Where we quoted Axworthy as saying "the Aspers," he in fact had said "diasporas." We sincerely apologize to both Axworthy and the Asper family.

That's hilarious, it's like something out of a Rob Corddry segment.

Hey Jill,
I finally got the Armed Forces to cooperate and I'm going up to Trenton on Monday for the deployment. They can't tell me what time as apparently that is a secret, but I've got some sort of security clearance. Will let y'all know how that goes.
